DGFT Monitoring Registration is a regulatory requirement under the Foreign Trade Policy (FTP) 2023-28 administered by the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT), Ministry of Commerce & Industry. This registration applies to exporters and importers of restricted, monitored, or sensitive commodities that require continuous oversight to prevent misuse, circumvention of trade barriers, or violation of bilateral/multilateral trade agreements.
Under the FTDR Act (Foreign Trade (Development & Regulation) Act), 1992, the DGFT has the authority to prescribe monitoring requirements for specific goods and services. Products such as certain chemicals, textiles, agricultural goods, minerals, and technology items may be placed under monitoring depending on global trade dynamics, anti-dumping measures, or safeguard provisions. Exporters must register with DGFT before engaging in trade of these monitored items to ensure compliance and maintain export eligibility.
