UKCA (UK Conformity Assessed) marking is the mandatory conformity mark required for products sold in the United Kingdom following its departure from the European Union on January 1, 2021. It replaces the CE marking for most product categories in the UK market and certifies that a product complies with relevant UK legislation and safety standards. Indian manufacturers and exporters shipping goods to the UK must obtain UKCA marking to demonstrate product compliance with UK regulatory requirements before market entry.
The UKCA mark appears as the letters "UKCA" on product packaging, labels, or technical documentation. It serves as a declaration by the manufacturer or their authorized UK representative that the product meets applicable UK conformity assessment procedures, health and safety standards, and environmental regulations. Unlike CE marking in the EU, UKCA marking does not require third-party certification for most product categories, allowing manufacturers to conduct self-certification through technical files and declarations of conformity.
