EPC (Export Promotion Council) Membership is a formal registration with a sector-specific Export Promotion Council recognized by the Ministry of Commerce & Industry and the DGFT (Directorate General of Foreign Trade). EPCs are autonomous bodies that promote exports of specific commodity groups and industries from India. Membership provides exporters with institutional recognition, trade support, and access to government schemes and incentives under the Foreign Trade Policy (FTP) 2023-28.
There are 27 Export Promotion Councils covering diverse sectors including textiles, engineering goods, pharmaceuticals, chemicals, agriculture, handicrafts, electronics, spices, and marine products. Each EPC maintains a registry of active exporters in its sector and serves as the official nodal body for facilitating exports, conducting compliance checks, and liaising with customs and regulatory authorities.
