A Veterinary Certificate is an official health document issued by the Animal Quarantine and Certification Services (AQCS) under the Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying, Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying, Government of India. This certificate certifies that animals, animal products, and by-products exported from India are free from notifiable diseases and comply with destination country's veterinary health requirements and international standards.
The Veterinary Certificate serves as proof of health compliance required by importing countries to prevent the transmission of animal diseases across borders. It is mandatory for exporting live animals, meat and meat products, dairy products, poultry and poultry products, eggs, fish and fishery products, and animal-derived ingredients used in pharmaceuticals and cosmetics. The certificate is issued after comprehensive health inspection and testing conducted at designated veterinary facilities registered with AQCS.
